Proposals on Userpedia allow for the community to make major decisions through votes. They can be used to add or remove policies, promote new ideas, and resolve disputes amongst members.
  • Members who participate in this process, whether they support or oppose a proposed measure, are asked to provide explanations for their votes.
  • All past proposals are archived.

A proposal section works like a discussion page: comments are brought up and replied to using indents (colons, such as : or ::::) and all edits must be signed.

Rules

  1. The voting period on proposals runs for a week and ends on 23:59 (UTC) of the last day of voting. For example, if a proposal is posted on a Monday, it will end on the next Monday at 23:59 (UTC).
  2. A proposal will be eligible for a one week extension if it has three votes or less at the deadline, or if there is a tie between at least two options.
  3. Any registered member of Userpedia can add a proposal so long as the proposal lays out an important, implementable suggestion.
  4. Every vote should have a reason accompanying it.
  5. "# " should be added under the last vote of each support/oppose section to show another blank line.
  6. If the vote in a proposal results in a change, then the member that posted it is responsible for implementing it. If carrying it out requires assistance, such as a collaboration of editors or administrative assistance, the proposer should clarify this in their proposal.
  7. The administrative team reserves the right to cancel any proposals that are deemed to be disruptive to the operation of Userpedia and its community at any time.
